DISC

Welcome to our school's website. Here you will find information about our school, staff and pupils.

Silverton School is set on the edge of the village of Silverton in about 2 acres of grounds, with views across the Exe Valley towards Dartmoor. The village is of Saxon origin and boasts many fine historic buildings, three churches, three pubs, shops and a thriving local village community. The village is within commuting distance of Exeter (7 miles) and Tiverton (7 miles). The M5 is a ten minute drive.

The school has been on its present site since 1975. The school buildings have been extended and enhanced in recent years. There are 5 classes catering for pupils from 4 - 11 years. The majority of pupils then transfer to the popular Clyst Vale Community College at Broadclyst.

The school has close links with St. Mary's CE Church through its church foundation and also maintains liaison with the local playgroup.

Apart from offering high standards in the core curriculum subjects, we believe that it is vitally important to offer pupils opportunities to extend the depth of work in other subject areas such as the arts. We have a very strong tradition in promoting speech and drama work. We offer extra - curricular activities such as tag rugby, football, netball, cricket and handbells.

The school includes pupil with special needs and to enhance this we also offer a movement group that focuses on specific co-ordination and communication skills. Every child also receives one-to-one conferences on a regular basis with their teacher, to discuss areas for development.

An after school club is available in the village for all primary aged pupils . The children are escorted to the venue from the school at 3.30 pm. Please contact the school for more details.
