We are a mixed Year 3 and Year 4 class.
Our teacher is Miss Curnow
Hazel Class spent 4 Thursday afternoons working on a quilting project with National Trust volunteers from Killerton House.
During the project we had to design and make a quilted square on the theme of ‘apples in different seasons’. The design and materials needed to be chosen carefully to fit with the theme. Everyone was very pleased with their finished piece, we all agreed that it had been hard work and we had learned lots of new skills – from threading needles, iron on printing, embellishing and 3 different sewing stiches. The work took a lot of perseverance and the class helped each other as we mastered each skill.
Our work was displayed at Killerton during the ‘Apple festival weekend’ – it was very busy and hundreds of people saw our work.
We would like to thank the volunteers from Killerton and the parents who came to help each week.
Please look at the photos Mrs Adnams took at the festival – our work will be back soon to be displayed in school.
In autumn term we were working on Egyptian masks and heiroglyphs
